computer crashes after rendering frame 1000 from 2400, you can come

back and start from frame 1001. In a video file, you would have to start

from the beginning.

8.5 Editing and exporting video

The rendering of animation to either a video file or image sequence is

the starting point of a process that results in your project's final version.

You will most likely use multiple scenes for the animation, effects, and

titles. It is possible to edit and add those features in Blender without the

need for any external editors.

One of the Editors from Blender can handle and manipulate video files

and works like a non-linear video editor. Using the Video Sequencer

Editor, or VSE, you can build large animations by manipulating separate

pieces of projects like video shots, effects, and more.

We mentioned the VSE when describing Scenes' use, and it is now time

to explore that Editor.

To use the VSE, you can use any available space from the interface or

open a dedicated WorkSpace for video editing. The WorkSpace is the

best choice because it already offers all the options to edit and process

video comfortably.

From the WorkSpace selector, you can choose Video Editing → Video

Editing to rearrange the interface with all required spaces to work with

video editing (Figure 8.14).
